A memorandum of understanding has been singed between Zakat & Ushr Department and NADRA here today. Syed Abid Ali Shah, Secretary Zakat & Ushr Department and Brigadier ® Zahid Hussain, Director General Sindh signed the Memorandum respectively on behalf of their respective organizations. Mr. Muhammad Sajid Jokhio, Minister Zakat & Ushr and Justice ® Zahid Qurban Alvi, Chairman Sindh Zakat Council also witnessed the event.
Under the Memorandum of understanding (MoU), the Guzara Allowance shall now be paid to around 85,000 identified beneficiaries through “Benazir Muawinat Card”. Each beneficiary shall receive Rs. 3,000/- (At the rate of Rs. 500/- per month) every six months through NADRA’s E-Sahulat Centers by going through a process of bio-metric identification.
Minister Zakat Sajid Jokhio said that the change in the disbursement of Guzara Allowance will shift the system of Zakat disbursement towards complete transparency .He added that annually around Rs. 500.00 million out of Zakat budget shall be disbursed through the new mode. (pakobserver)
