The
service is named as “Allied SMS Banking”. The official sources claim that the
transactions through SMS will not only be secure for the customers but it will
be convenient for them as well. All the financial transactions via text
messages will be secured by a secret Mobile pin (mPIN). Any message sent by the
bank will not contain any confidential information about your account or
yourself, unless it is specially and specifically requested.Chief Commercial
& Rental banking Group, Allied Bank, Khawaja Muhammad Almas addressed the
launching ceremony and said, “With the successful launch of this service,
Allied Bank stands committed to continuously providing latest and innovative
banking solutions to its customers. Allied SMS Banking supports the
financial inclusion movement by extending public access towards banking
services using the most adaptive mobile phone technology”.Allied Bank has
signed a contract with Sybase and Abacus Consulting. According to the contract
the company will be providing SMS banking services for ABL.ABL has launched
“Allied SMS Banking” in competence with branch-less banking services. With this
unique service of managing account through SMS will enable a larger portion of
population that has limited access to GPRS (internet on mobile) and the
branches of bank.
Services
that can be performed via SMS are:
- Balance inquiry of the account
- Bank transfer to ABL from ABL (intrabank)
- Payment of Utility bills (LESCO, KESC, SNGPL, SSGC)
- Payment of mobile bills pre-paid and post paid (Ufone, Warid, and Telenor)
