The action committee of Nadra’s temporary employees has announced to spread the scope of its protest across the country against non regularization of their services despite announcement of the prime minister and assurances of the chairman NADRA in this regard.
The nonpermanent employees from Sindh province will stage a protest demonstration outside the press club, Karachi today (Sunday). According to the provincial central leader of NADRA’s action committee Malik Sajjad, Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani during his visit to the central office of the authority in Islamabad had announced to regularize the services of temporary employees. However, the decision has so far not been implemented.
In the wake of the PM’s announcement, Chairman NADRA had also held out an assurance to regularize the services of employees. About twelve thousand temporary employees are working in different offices of NADRA across the country. He said that the staff of old identity cards office is working on regular basis and enjoying all incentives, which have not been extended to the temporary employees.
The provincial leader of NADRA’s action committee warned to spread the scope of protest across the country if services of employees were not regularized. In the first phase, the protest is being commenced from Karachi. Afterwards, protest demonstrations will be taken out in Multan, Sargodha, Lahore and Peshawar.
